Izel Rozental's 35-Year Cartoon Journey: “Çifte Kavrulmuş” (Double Roasted) Published.

Izel Rozental, one of the most well-known names in Turkish cartooning, is celebrating his 35th year in the profession with his new book, "Double Roasted." Published by Kırmızı Kedi Publishing House, the book serves as a visual memory record of recent times in Turkey and the world. Rozental's cartooning journey, which began in 1991 in the Şalom newspaper and has continued uninterrupted, is brought together in this book with a powerful selection. This long journey, extending from the Gulf War to today's global crises, meets the reader with ironic, critical, and sometimes shocking drawings filtered through the artist's pen. With his cartoons published under the title "The End of the Tunnel" in the same column for 35 years, Rozental stands out not only as a cartoonist who interprets current events but also as a visual historian. Rozental's drawings cover a wide range of topics, from politics and social issues to wars and democracy debates. He manages to create profound meanings with simple symbols.

In Rozental's cartoons, humor appears as a thought-provoking, questioning, and critical language. Even during periods of oppression, the artist, who preserves the freedom offered by humor, stands out as one of the rare names who expands the field of expression with his drawings.

Having produced 20 books and numerous exhibitions to date, Rozental is among the important cartoonists who represent Turkey on international platforms. However, his greatest strength lies in his ability to transform the everyday into a universal language. "Double Roasted," a product of years of experience and memory, is an important resource for anyone who wants to understand the spirit of the age.
